The Educational and Research Institute of Nuclear and Thermal Energy of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute announces a competition for a scholarship from an engineering company iC consulenten Ukraine.
The results of the selection process will determine two winners, each of whom will receive an annual scholarship from September 2026 to August 2027 inclusive.
Conditions for participation
- The competition is open to full-time first- and second-year bachelor’s students at IATE in the 2026/2027 academic year who study the G4 Energy Production speciality on the Thermal Power Engineering and Thermal Power Plant Installations educational programme, or the interdisciplinary GG88 Computerised Technologies and Engineering of Thermal Power Systems educational programme (main speciality G4, specialisation G4.02 Thermal Power Engineering, additional speciality G7 Automation, Computer-Integrated Technologies and Robotics).
- Applicants must write an essay on one of the following topics: “What should Ukraine’s ideal reconstruction look like, and what will I do to help achieve it?” or “What problem in my city would I solve as an engineer?”
- The essay is presented in Ukrainian; length: 2–3 pages; Times New Roman font, 12 pts; line spacing: single; first-line indent: 1.25 cm; margins: left 1.5 cm, top, bottom and right 1 cm.
Assessment
The maximum overall score is 100 points: up to 50 points for academic performance and up to 50 points for the essay.
- For first-year students, the academic-performance score is calculated from the 2026 admissions ranking as 50/200 × the admissions ranking score, up to 50 points, rounded to the nearest whole number.
- For second-year students, the academic-performance score is calculated from the results of the summer examination session of the 2025/2026 academic year as 50/100 × the ranking score, up to 50 points, rounded to the nearest whole number.
- Essays are judged on the content and depth of the topic (up to 10 points), logic, structure and argumentation (up to 10), independence of thought, personal approach and motivation (up to 18), clarity of position and reasoning of conclusions (up to 12).
The winners will be the two participants with the highest integral score. If several candidates score the same number of points, the candidate with the highest score for the essay will be given preference.

The winners of the competition will be announced in early October 2026.
