With profound sorrow, the staff of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy announce the death of Liubov Oleksandrivna Kesova.
On 9 September 2026, the outstanding scientist, gifted educator, Doctor of Technical Sciences and Professor Liubov Oleksandrivna Kesova passed away.
Her entire professional and academic life was inseparably connected with Kyiv Polytechnic. In 1960, she graduated from the KPI Faculty of Thermal Power Engineering and devoted herself to teaching and research at the Department of Thermal Power Plants and Nuclear Power Plants (TEUT and NPP). She defended her doctoral thesis in 1992 and was awarded the academic title of professor in 1994. From 1996 to 2005 she headed the Department of TEUT and NPP; from 2005 to 2019 she was a professor in the department.
Colleagues, students and alumni will always remember Liubov Oleksandrivna as a person of great intelligence, profound erudition, integrity, sincerity and devotion to her vocation.
The department extends its sincere condolences to her family, relatives, friends and everyone who knew and valued Liubov Oleksandrivna.

A farewell ceremony for Liubov Oleksandrivna Kesova will take place on 11 September 2026 at 14:00 beside the crematorium at Baikove Cemetery (16 Baikova Street).
